Cracking started 18 months ago when still under warranty, but no time to go to an Apple Store / authorised repair store. Finally decided today that I should have to do something and made an appointment at an Apple Store, after finding this site that confirmed what I I hoped I remembered reading a year or so back. Just have to backup everything now.

This is great news (hopefully).
My casing has looked vulnerable for a while, and cracked (just this morning) when I ran my nail along the edges, to remove some dirt.
Will try and get my MacBook off to an Apple Store ASAP.
Graphic Design and Web Design deadline to meet before then though.

Thank you for putting this site together. I call Apple last night and my poor macbook will be fixed in warranty no questions asked. It was bought Aug 2009. The other macbook is ok just mine that has the issue so far
I also need my screen bezel replaced too

Oh so glad I found this site!!! My case has been cracking all over and did not know about this. Hopefully, I can get it replaced!

I went into the apple store after reading this article and they replaced the top case and screen bezel for FREE
